SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- One local congressman is trying to push for improvements in Federal Education Policy.
Representative Dan Maffei talked about his ideas on Monday.
Maffei toured a bunch of schools throughout the year, and put out a survey to some educators.
He unveiled his plan at ITC in Syracuse Monday. It includes investing in technology, creating partnerships between schools and districts, and giving teachers and administrators time to adapt to new Common Core Standards.
"I do believe that we need to make an investment in education. But it can't be one size fits all. Different school districts and different kids have different needs. Right now our federal education policy doesn't recognize that enough," said Rep. Dan Maffei, (D) 24th Congressional District.
The Congressman would also like to invest in more pre-k programs to help children at a younger age.
