SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Syracuse Chiefs partner with Dunkin' Donuts to donate 300 pounds of coffee to the food bank.
The donation is part of the "Runs for Coffee" Campaign held during the 2013 season in which Dunkin' Donuts donated one pound of coffee for every run scored by the Chiefs.
The coffee will help feed hungry and less fortunate residents throughout the eleven counties served by the Food Bank of Central New York.
Dunkin’ Donuts announced similar partnerships with three additional CNY teams to donate more coffee during the winter.
"The Food Bank is so important to the community. They serve over 23,000 communities each and every day. We're just doing our little part to support them. We're also announcing today that we're partnering with the Syracuse Crunch, Silver Knights and Syracuse football. We're hoping to get another 900 pounds of coffee this winter for the Food Bank," said Eric Stensland, Dunkin' Donuts Field Marketing Manager
The 300 pounds of coffee equates to nearly 15,000 cups.
