WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius faces tough questions Wednesday from the Energy and Commerce Committee about the issues with the national Affordable Care Act website.
Sebelius has received criticism following the poor rollout of the heath care website. It has been plagued with technical issues since it launched at the beginning of October.
Lawmakers are now calling for Sebellius to step down, or be fired. However, Sebellius admits the first few weeks have been rough, but adds she is working with the White House to resolve the issues.
"I am as frustrated and angry as anyone with the flawed launch of healthcare.gov. So let me say directly to these Americans, you deserve better. I apologize. I am accountable to you for fixing these problems," said Sebelius.
She said they've added management talent, technical expertise, and a new general contractor to improve the site through performance and function.
