BIG FLATS, N.Y. -- If you really want to make sure your candy from trick or treating is safe, the Five Star Urgent Care Center in Big Flats will x-ray your child's candy.
Families can bring in their bags of candy to the location in Consumer Square on County Road 64 between 5 and 9 p.m. on Halloween. They will inspect the candy for sharp objects, including razor blades, nails, or pins that can get stuck in your treats.
According to health officials, the x-ray will not cause any health threats. A very low dose of radiation is used to scan the candy.
