BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- In all the stories, vampires and garlic just don't mix. But in the Southern Tier, one group of the undead are making sure there will be plenty to go around in the community.
Staff and volunteers dressed up as vampires as they planted garlic bulbs and the Binghamton Urban Farm on Tudor Street Thursday. They say it's a fun way to highlight an important asset in the community.
"You look around this neighborhood and even farther beyond this neighborhood in the downtown area, there's no place to get fresh produce, fresh foods and that's a real challenge for some people," said Binghamton Urban Farm Manager Sean Cummings.
