SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Spirit of the Harvest Festival gave those in Central New York a taste of Haudenosaunee culture. The event coincided with Native American Heritage Month.
Native American artists were on hand selling their crafts from mugs to necklaces and there were a lot of unique things to pick up.
The event was held at Onondaga Community College and there was a bit of special meaning behind that.
"We have a good student population here of Native students. So it is a good thing for us to keep connected to them, too, because they're from the various communities of Haudenosaunee's. So it feels good for them because they may be out of town from another nation and to have their own people here doing a show for them, showing their crafts," said events coordinator Tracy Thomas.
This was the third year of the festival.
