For voters on the northside of Watertown, you'll have a new polling place. YNN's Elizabeth Jeneault spoke with officials about what prompted the change, and what you can expect at the new location.
WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- The Jefferson County Board of Elections has decided this year voters will head to Sacred Heart Church to vote.
The North Side Improvement League has long been the area's home for polling. The league is a mainstay in the neighborhood but recent financial troubles have caused them difficulty.
Because people are so used to voting there the county is trying its best to inform residents of the change.
"They sent out letters to the 2,500 registered voters and of course were hoping to get publicity through the media and I'm sure the candidates will be telling their voters too," said Jeff Graham, Watertown Mayor.
Sacred Heart Church is located at 302 West Lynde Street. Voting there will start at 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
