What’s happening opening day at the New York State Fair?
Tomorrow is the first day of the Great New York State Fair, also known as “Governor’s Day.” The gates open bright and early at 8 a.m., and buildings will open at 10 a.m.
I’ll be arriving around noon…just in time for the lunch crowd! Last year, the Big Kahuna Burger stole the spotlight, featuring a burger sandwiched between two doughnuts. This year, you’ll get the chance to chow down on the Big Kahuna Donut Dog. It’s a bacon wrapped hot dog in a maple glazed long john doughnut! I’ll have to find someone brave enough to take on that treat!
If you’re in the mood for some musical entertainment on the first day of the fair, The Wanted is playing at 7:30 p.m. at the Grandstand. You can check out Karmin (2:00 p.m.) and Neon Trees (8:00 p.m.) for free at Chevy Court.
Don’t forget to visit YNN at the YNN/Time Warner Cable News Deck, not far from the main gate! Stop by and meet YNN anchors JoDee Kenney
, Lacey Leonardi
, and Mark Larson
. We’re handing out nifty YNN slap bracelets, too. And the cherry on top of it all…we’re expecting a visit from Karmin at 11 a.m., and Neon Trees at 4 p.m.
Check out our Entertainment page to keep track of all the musical acts and guests!
