More eating adventures at the NY State Fair

By: Web Staff

The more I explore the New York State Fair, the more vegetarian options I find! That has been a pleasant surprise, for sure. It’s good to know that a vegetarian’s only option isn’t cheese pizza!

There are hundreds of yummy treats to chow down on while you wander the fairgrounds, vegetarian or not.

Spiedies and Paninis has a yummy variation on French fries. They’re called ‘rainbow fries’ and consist of eggplant fries, sweet potato fries, and regular fries. King Tut also has falafel pita sandwiches, which looked tasty!

In the Dairy Products Building, you can keep your carnivorous friends happy at Shake It Up: a Hot Beef Sundae for them, and Alice’s Famous Macaroni and Cheese for you! Or go straight to dessert with frozen cheesecake on a stick.

In the Horticulture Building, The Homegrown Tomato Company looks promising. Tomato sandwiches and fried green tomatoes looked delicious, and they also make a great looking BLT melt!

Lines are always long for the Great Potato Booth! You can opt to leave off the bacon, and get a delicious baked potato for just $1.

I’ve learned that there ARE vegetarian meals to be had while visiting the New York State Fair, and you don’t have to miss out on the fun while gobbling down these meat-free dishes. I can’t wait to find more options to add to the list for my next visit! Time is running out…
