Day 11: Just one day left
Today is Day 11 of the New York State Fair, and that means tomorrow is the final day of this year’s fair! Labor Day is your last chance to head to the fairgrounds and soak up the fun.
Today is CSEA Day, which is one of the largest unions in the U.S. There are some 35,000 CSEA members just in Syracuse, alone. There’s a CSEA booth in the Center of Progress Building if you want to learn more about the group.
It has seemed pretty crowded at the fairgrounds over the last ten days, but somehow, attendance numbers are down compared to last year. Even with all the nice, sunny weather we’ve had! On Saturday, just fewer than 93,000 people came out to the fair…which seems like a big number. But that’s actually 15,000 people down compared to the same day last year. There was no musical act playing at the Grandstand last night, though, so that could be part of the reason behind the lower attendance numbers.
I’m guessing that tonight will be pretty crowded at the fair! The Band Perry plays at Chevy Court at 8 p.m., and it’s free with admission! If you’re thinking of heading out, you may want to get an early start to avoid getting stuck in traffic.
Enjoy these last days of the fair!
