BLOG: Ithaca’s mayor recommends no unnecessary travel after 9 p.m.

By: Web Staff

ITHACA, N.Y. - In anticipation of the sustained winds in the range of 30-40 mph with gusts in the range of 50-60 mph as predicted by the National Weather Service, City of Ithaca Mayor Svante L. Myrick is recommending no unnecessary travel, including cyclists and pedestrians, after 9:00 p.m. as a safety precaution. These high winds could cause trees, limbs, and power lines to come down. This is simply a recommendation at this time but please stay tuned to local media sources in case the status of this issue changes.
