STATEWIDE -- Sandy is already causing headaches for local travelers, despite being hundreds of miles from New York State.

Travelers at Syracuse's Regional Transportation Center Sunday evening were expected to be the last taking trains out of the area before the storm. Amtrak canceled all trains originating from the northeast beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday.

We spoke to one couple who scored tickets to a train to Chicago. Their flight to Washington, D.C. was canceled early Sunday morning because of the bad weather caused by Sandy.

"I mean, we could've flown out, but it would've been three days. We would have had to be three days here or three days in D.C. before we could fly out, and this was great. We needed to be in Chicago, so it's perfect," said Texas resident David Scott.

Amtrak also expects to cancel all services along the eastern seaboard starting Monday.
