ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Onondaga County's executive is urging people to stay off the road, if possible, through early Tuesday.
Joanie Mahoney says the storm impact in Central New York may not be as severe as in other sections of the state and nation, but she says, that doesn't mean there will not be damage requiring emergency response.
"It's about the people that are out there, serving us and trying to get the help to people who need it. So even if you think it's okay for you to be out and about, keep in mind that your neighbors might need a hand and staying off the road is probably the best thing that you can do," Mahoney said.
Mahoney says most errands and short range trips can wait until the weather improves.
