NORTH CAROLINA -- The HMS Bounty, a famous ship used in a number of Hollywood films was in the path of Hurricane Sandy, and has sunk off the coast of North Carolina. The Coast Guard is currently searching for two members of the ship, who are currently unaccounted for.

There were 14 other crew members who were rescued by the Coast Guard near Elizabeth City. The crew began jumping ship once it started taking on water into a life raft, but according to officials, the two members who were unaccounted for were swept away by a large wave.

Officials said the two who are missing were wearing survival suits, which will protect them from the cold waters for about 15 hours. The HMS Bounty sank shortly after it started taking on water. It was most famously used in the 1962 film "Mutiny on the Bounty". The Bounty was also docked in Newburgh this summer.
