Funeral Held for One Binghamton Shooting Victim
R News Story from April 3, 2009
Dozens gathered for a memorial service for a woman killed in the Binghamton shootings one week ago.
Her husband was also shot and was not able to attend, due to serious injuries.
Long Huynh and his wife Lan Ho were both shot while inside the American Civic Association when Jiverly Wong opened fire. Huynh used his body to shield his wife from the bullets.
One of those bullets passed through Huynh's elbow and hit Lan Ho.
She died in her husband's arms.
"He don't want to talk about that, so he only think about his wife and he would like his wife to go with God," said family friend Mihn Nguyen, translating for Huynh.
Huynh and his family are looking for community support as they try to raise money so Lan Ho can be laid to rest in her home country of Vietnam.
