BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The federal government says it will provide long-term assistance to victims of the tragic shootings at the American Civic Association in Binghamton.

Congressman Maurice Hinchey says $127,000 will go toward counseling. The money will be directed to the Crime Victims Assistance Center in Binghamton.

Thirteen people died when Jiverly Wong opened fire inside the ACA on the morning of April 3rd. Wong then turned the gun on himself.

Those who survived the shooting and their family members will be able to receive long-term counseling.

The Crime Victims Assistance Center is currently handling 80 cases related to the April attack.
