Part 5: Overcoming obstacles

It can be daunting to think of swimming a half mile, biking 18 miles and running three miles all one right after the other. But more than 600 women will be doing exactly that this Sunday. The Aflac Iron Girl triathlon is taking place at Oneida Shores Park in Brewerton Sunday. Our Allison Lazarz is one of those 600 participating. She tells us why biking has been her biggest challenges as she "gives it a tri."

Part 4: Mother and daughter training together

Sometimes exercising is easier with a buddy. And for a local mother and daughter, training together for the Aflac Iron Girl triathlon is about more than spending time together. It's also a way for them to stay healthy and active. The triathlon is on July 26 at Oneida Shores Park. As our Allison Lazarz tells us, both women are excited to "Give It A Tri" together.

A local woman says she couldn't think of a better way to celebrate her 68th birthday than by competing in a triathlon. Sharon Sonnacchio will be 68 just a few days after the Iron Girl triathlon at Oneida Shores Park on July 26th. She's training for an 800 meter swim, 30 kilometer bike ride and 5 kilometer run.
