SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- In an exchange of e-mails with Daryl Gross Wednesday and the Greg Robinson rumors heating up Gross was asked if he could give Greg a vote of confidence or at least say he'll be the coach the rest of the season. But Daryl would not do either.

Here's what Gross said, a very vanilla unlike his response to ESPN last week.

"All of us that care about SU football, all have the same objective and that is to have a successful football program. We are working to ensure that we will have a program that we are proud of," said Gross.

We asked Gross if he would consider Lane Kiffin a potential candidate for any school with an opening and Gross answered, "Lane is a great coach. Any other discussion would be totally inappropriate."
