Senior running back Delone Carter returned to the SU football team Tuesday a little less than four months after being suspended for an alleged assault of a fellow student.
Carter was reinstated to the team Monday and traveled to Syracuse from his hometown of Akron, Ohio Tuesday where he participated in SU's second practice of training camp.
The Orange leading rusher in 2009 says he is grateful for a chance to return to SU to earn his degree and finish his college playing career.
Orange coach Doug Marrone says Carter looks like a player that's been away for four months and declined to specifiy where he stands on the depth chart.
Carter says he was extremely motivated to get back in time to prepare to play in SU's season opener in Akron September fourth.
