In the face of NCAA investigation and likely sanctions, Ohio State Football coach Jim Tressel resigned on Monday morning. Tressel admitted back in March that he knowingly played ineligible players last season. His team is set to go in front of the NCAA Committee on Infractions in August, where many speculate his team would be handed heavy sanctions.

Tressel actually coached in Syracuse back in 1981, when coach Dick MacPherson hired him to coach the quarterbacks and call plays. As you can see in the video, coach Mac offered up his full support for Tressel.
