WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. -- Tuesday was an exciting day at Watkins Glen, with about 10,000 people on hand to see a Formula One car circle the track for the first time in more than 30 years.

And they also got to see Tony Stewart drive it.

But it is the last time Open Wheel racing will be at the Glen this summer.

The IndyCar circuit cancelled its appearance this year, but Glen officials are still hoping that they may be able to reach an agreement to have it return in 2012.

With IndyCars out this year, pretty much the sole focus for the rest of the summer is the Stock Cars.

The Sprint Cup race at The Glen is scheduled for August 14th.
