BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- While the B-Sens have held onto their head coach, Kurt Kleinendorst will have a bunch of new players to try and lead to a repeat next season.

And among the guys he'll have to replace, the AHL man of the year.

Center Cody Bass has officially joined the Columbus Blue Jackets with the team announcing a one-year two-way contract.

The 24-year-old only played in one NHL game for Ottawa last season but played in 58 games for the B-Sens, helping them win their first Calder Cup and also winning the prestigious AHL Man of the Year award.

Bass has played in 171 career games for Binghamton and like the other guys who have left, like Ryan Potulny and Ryan Keller, he's hoping to get a better shot at the NHL with his new club in Columbus.
