Syracuse legend Jim Boeheim enters his 36th season as the Orange head coach when he and his team open the preseason with Midnight Madness at the Carrier Dome Friday night.
Boeheim says he's eager to give the fans a chance to see his young and talented team take the court. He's also looking forward to seeing his former players participate in a "legends scrimmage" beforehand.
Some of the biggest names in program history are expected to take part in the unofficial start to the basketball season. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the event is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m.
Admission is free but fans need a ticket in advance to gain entrance.
The first real practice of the season is Saturday.
