UTICA, N.Y. - After missing a chance to win at the end of regulation, the New Hartford boys basketball team capitalized on another chance at the end of overtime with Jordan Henderson hitting a 3-pointer as time expired to give the Spartans a 57-55 win over their archrival Notre Dame in the Section III Class A quarterfinals Friday.

Henderson's shot came after Notre Dame, the No. 4 seed, had pulled ahead 55-54 on a put-back with about 30 seconds left. Fifth-seeded New Hartford's first shot missed but Tom Clifford was able to track down the rebound and get it to Henderson, who was mobbed by the team and fans following his heroics.

Henderson, Robert Broccoli, and Derek German each scored 14 points to lead the Spartans (15-4), who next face top-seeded, top-ranked, and four-time reigning champion Jamesville-DeWitt in the semifinals.

Enjay Warmack scored 20 points and Simon Pitman added 15 for the Jugglers, who end the season 14-5.
