LIVERPOOL, N.Y. - In a matchup of two of the top teams in Division III junior college baseball, No. 5 Onondaga came back to beat No. 3 Herkimer 5-4 in 11 innings on Thursday.
Jeremy Mathers ended the game with a long walkoff RBI single to right field, scoring Jordan Leedom. The victory avenged an 18-8 loss the day before at Herkimer in which the Generals scored all 18 of their runs in one inning.
The Lazers improve to 35-9 overall while the Generals fall to 30-8.
Hassan Evans hit a solo home run and a two-run triple for Herkimer.
