CICERO, N.Y. - In a matchup of state-ranked baseball teams, Baldwinsville came back to beat Westhill 5-3 on Friday in the opening round of Cicero-North Syracuse's John Ilacqua Jr. tournament at Gillette Field.
Connor Martin went 3 for 4 including a go-ahead RBI double in the fifth inning for the Bees, who are ranked No. 4 in Class AA this week and are now 15-3 overall. Baldwinsville will play Bishop Ludden in the championship game Saturday starting at 2 p.m.
Ben Walsh had two hits and an RBI for Westhill, ranked No. 14 in Class B and now 16-3. The Warriors will play host C-NS in the consolation game Saturday prior to the final.
