LIVERPOOL, N.Y. - Ryan O'Kane struck out 14 batters--including nine in a row during one stretch--to lead Onondaga West to a 3-0 win over Metro New York in the Babe Ruth 16-18 Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament winners bracket on Friday.
O'Kane allowed just two hits and no walks in the seven-inning complete-game effort and Chris Davis drove in all three runs with a double and two sacrifice flyouts.
Onondaga West (2-0) advances to play Northern New Jersey (2-0) in the semifinals Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hopkins Road Park. The winner will only need one win in the finals to advance to the World Series.
