Today is your last chance to check out the Jets training camp at SUNY Cortland. Gang Green will be back on the gridiron this morning as it conducts its final open practice. Our Brad Vivacqua reports.
CORTLAND, N.Y. -- The Jets will actually practice twice more in Cortland, but only today's session is open to the public. As Gang Green prepares for its next preseason game against the Giants this Saturday, Jets fans are encouraged to come and check out the team workout one final time today in Cortland.
Training camp will get its usual early start this morning beginning at 8 a.m. The Jets will practice for three hours until right around 11 a.m. The team shop and the Jet's Fest Fun Zone opens at 7 a.m. and will stay open until noon.
A few thousand people visited campus Tuesday as many fans enjoyed not only practice but the merchandise and fun zone as well.
With today being the last open practice, it's anticipated that a large crowd will be here again today.
Throughout training camp we've been seeing a number of youth groups and football teams make the visit together. Tuesday, we met up with members of the Cooperstown High School football team who say attending camp can help them learn the fundamentals of the game.
"It's definitely good to watch you know some of the professionals and you know some of the skills they're learning and techniques. That's where we're really going to you know learn. Because of course our plays are different but as far as technique that's important," said Kevin Segit, Cooperstown HS Senior.
A number of school groups have held day trips to the camp in the last few weeks.
