SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Marcus Sales' return after a year away from football was a big one for the Syracuse football team against Northwestern, but the Syracuse native is hoping for an even bigger day and a better result when the Orange plays No. 2 USC Saturday at MetLife Stadium.

Sales did not play at all last season due to drug charges that were later dropped, clearing the way for his return this year. Against the Wildcats he made a career-high 12 receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown but also failed to make one catch that wound up falling into the hands of a defender for an interception which set up a Northwestern touchdown. That is one of several mistakes Sales and his teammates are focused on correcting as they prepare to face the heavily-favored Trojans in the home of the NFL's Giants and Jets.
