SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Syracuse Crunch fans got the news they had been hoping for on Friday as Tampa Bay assigned reigning AHL Rookie of the Year and MVP Cory Conacher and Defenseman of the Year Mark Barberio to their top affiliate.
Conacher led the AHL with 39 goals and added 41 assists in the regular season then racked up 15 points in the playoffs to help Norfolk win the Calder Cup. The starting goalie from that squad, Dustin Tokarski, is also heading to Syracuse along with forward Tyler Johnson, who was seventh in the AHL in scoring as a rookie with 68 points.
