HERKIMER, N.Y. - The Herkimer football team won its first sectional title since 1984 last season and one more victory Saturday night will give the Magicians a repeat.
Herkimer, 7-1 and the top seed in the Class C-2 tournament, plays No. 7 Lowville at RFA Stadium starting at 7 p.m. Despite the low draw the Raiders are 6-2 so the Magicians are bracing for a bigger battle than the seeds indicate.
The winner will play the C-1 champion next weekend at the Carrier Dome in the overall C final for a berth in the state playoffs.
