SYRACUSE, N.Y. - A year after they were supposed to play in the Section III football finals, Herkimer and Skaneateles will play for real in the Class C title game on Saturday.
The Magicians and Lakers were slated to face off in a marquee battle of unbeaten teams in last year's final until Skaneateles was disqualified during the week prior to the game for recruiting violations. Herkimer went on to defeat substitute Notre Dame for its first title since 1984.
The Class C final is Saturday starting at noon. All of the Section III championships will be televised live on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.
