CHITTENANGO, N.Y. - The Sauquoit Valley girls soccer team looked like it would have to rebuild this year with only three seniors, but instead the Lady Indians are heading to the state playoffs for the third time in four seasons after nipping Manlius Pebble Hill 1-0 in the Section III overall Class C final Wednesday at Chittenango.

Kelly Brennan scored the lone goal with 18:14 remaining in the second half and the defense, anchored by goalkeeper Alyson Gaffney, made it stand.

Sauquoit Valley (17-2-1) will play Section IV champion Unatego in the state quarterfinals Saturday at Fulton starting at 1 p.m.
