53 cities applied to host the NCAA tournament and only 25 were selected. The tournament will be a big boost for the economy, as fans from across the country will travel to Central New York to watch the games. It brings millions of dollars to hotels, restaurants, bars and other local businesses.

The Carrier Dome has hosted tournament games several times through the decades. In 2010 West Virginia knocked off Kentucky in the Dome to advance to the Final Four.
