SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Hornell football team finally met its match on Saturday as Hoosick Falls won the Class C state championship 34-21 at the Carrier Dome, snapping the Red Raiders' 51-game winning streak.
Hornell was trying for its fourth-straight perfect season which would have made it the first football team ever to win four-straight NYSPHSAA titles. It won its first three championships in Class B before dropping down this season.
