SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse men's and women's lacrosse teams are each counting down to Sunday as the men will start their regular season and the women will play a real game for the first time in more than a month following their earliest season-opener ever.

The women's team, ranked No. 1 in the coaches' poll and No. 2 in the media poll, play first against No. 4 Maryland starting at 1 p.m. The men, ranked No. 13/No. 12, take on UAlbany, which is receiving votes in both polls, starting at 4 p.m. Both games will be televised on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.
