HARTFORD, CT - The SU women's basketball team was bounced from the Big East Tournament semifinals Monday night 64-51 by the third-ranked Connecticut Huskies, who will face top-seed Notre Dame in the tournament championship on Tuesday.
The Orange (24-7) were led by Kayla Alexander's 14 points and seven rebounds as the SU senior surpassed the 2,000 point mark for her career.
Rachel Coffey added six points and eight assists for Syracuse, who cut a 19-point UConn lead to nine in the second half before faltering.
Syracuse was playing in its first Big East Tournament semifinal game since 2002 in its final appearance at the conference competition.
