I'm still feeling very sore from the spinning class and bike seat, but I have to go to the ski hill today. It is absolutely frigid. The high is in the single digits, which is tough, but at least there aren’t a lot of lessons. I skied a couple runs while checking up on the instructors and watching their teaching styles.
Ariel, the other supervisor, calls me to check on how things are going at the hill, and we talk about Iron Girl a bit. She wants to train together at some point, which would be great because she's already done Iron Girl twice and could maybe give me some pointers. I tell her I'm feeling discouraged, but she offers words of encouragement, and I'm feeling better about things.
I also talk with Allison, the former YNN reporter who did Iron Girl two years ago, and she also offers me a lot of encouragement. She tells me about her training and the race in general. She definitely makes me feel a lot better. She says she didn't start training until much later than I am. She also says on race day, it's so much easier to get motivated because there are so many other people around. It is really great to hear from people who have done the race and are so encouraging. I am feeling much better now after talking to Allison and Ariel.
