Training: Week 7: Trying to stay motivated & joining a gym

Back at the ski hill. We have a slower day, so I'm able to ski for a couple hours. I'm starting to feel the amount of work overwhelming me. I'm tired and not feeling motivated.

My trial gym membership has run out, and I haven't joined a gym yet. Plus I'm still feeling lazy and unmotivated. So I took Monday and Tuesday off to recover a bit.
Today, a friend brings me to the YMCA to take a Zumba class, which is great. There are a ton of people and it's a lot of fun. I am super uncoordinated though and keep getting tripped up on the footwork. I danced for ten years, but feel like a fool in Zumba. It's great! I'm exhausted after the class but happy because at least I'm back in the gym.
The classes are so tiring, but they force me to workout for a full hour, which I need. I definitely need more discipline when it comes to my training. I don't know how I'm going to be able to do Iron Girl if I can barely do an hour of Zumba. But I'm working on it.

I was so motivated by yesterday's class, my boyfriend Jim and I decided to join the YMCA. Signing up took a long time, so we only were able to workout for a little bit. But we did swim for fifteen minutes, and I did a quarter of a mile, which is half the Iron Girl distance. It's not much, but at least I did something.

I took Friday off, and today I'm skiing again. But this time it's a different ski hill. My mom and brother come up to watch me race in the "Save the Peaks" ski race, which is a fundraiser for the Carol Baldwin Breast Cancer Foundation. After my two races, we ski for the rest of the afternoon. We have a great time. It's a lot of fun skiing with my family.
