Training Week 7: Elisabeth Berson
June 13: Today, I swam at Gold's. As with the many other individual swim times I've had, I felt less than stellar while in the pool (and also caught a glimpse of how hilarious my goggles look while on... *note to self: new spiffy, reflective goggles are a must!*), but, I persevered and swam, swam, swam.
June 14: 16 miles in 75 minutes! I traveled home to Baldwinsville and back on my zippy bike and thoroughly enjoyed that ride.
At one point on the way back, as I was flying down a hill, I noticed too late that there was a significant divet in the road ahead. Panicking wouldn't help so I just braced myself to either totally bite the pavement or rattle my way over the hole (there was no time and it was not safe to swerve). I'm happy to report, I didn't flip over my handlebars; I escaped with only stiff arms and shoulders the next day.
June 15: At group swim practice today we got to race each other... and I love it! (We'll see how enthusiastic I am after open water group swim.). What an evening - first swim practice I felt really great about.
June 18-19: There was swimming and (I think) pedaling this weekend. With so much going on at work and with other obligations, training and keeping up is surely challenging my multi-tasking skills!
