Training Week 10: Elisabeth Berson
I bike one of the loops between Baldwinsville and Liverpool, hitting more countryside than times past. This ride also includes a few more hills, as suggested in our workout. I did notice right off the bat, though, that my front tire is soft and am reminded I do not have the appropriate equipment to fix a flat. On the agenda for next week (no time this week) is getting to a bike shop for all the needs to remedy a tire issue! July 6:
Today is a warm day but I get my 55 minute run in and felt pretty good throughout. July 7:
Jamesville Beach! It's quite an adventure today; first day with long-sleeve wetsuit on while in the water. It is surely a different sensation but I'm struck by the level of flotation you can get if you are calm, still and relaxed. Guess what I'm not while swimming today? Calm, still OR relaxed! This manifests in a number of different ways but was (in hindsight) a great experience because it can only improve from here, right? (Humor me!). July 8-10:
On a roadtrip to celebrate a dear friend this weekend so training was not a possibility. I know it will all work out in the end: come race day, I may flail through part of the swim but dry land will be my saving grace!
