The rink is ready at the NYS Fairgrounds for Saturday's first-ever AHL game outdoors between the Syracuse Crunch and the Binghamton Senators.
Youth hockey teams have been practicing on the ice sheet for a couple days and the SU women's hockey team is expected to workout there Tuesday.
The Crunch will take the ice for practice Thursday in an event that is open to the public starting at noon.
The 2010 Mirabito Outdoor Classic faces off Saturday at 1pm and can be seen live on TWCS, with a half-hour pregame show also airing on News 10 Now HD, digital channel 810.
