ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Shrouded in mystery for the first three weeks of spring practice, the Syracuse University football team finally held an open practice Saturday at Sahlen's Stadium in Rochester.
This was the second-straight year the Orange made the trip west in an effort to better connect with their fan base out that way, and it was the first time the public and the media got to see the team this spring as head coach Doug Marrone has closed off all practices except for the Rochester one and the annual Spring Game.
Marrone is keeping the team insulated from the outside world as it tries some new things, and Marrone does not want anyone judging the trial-and-error process before things are finalized.
The Spring Game, which marks the end of spring practice, is scheduled for April 21 at the Carrier Dome.
