CAZENOVIA, N.Y. - Playing as a reigning sectional champion for the first time ever, the top-seeded Cazenovia boys lacrosse team looked every bit the favorite to repeat on Thursday with a 16-5 victory over No. 8 Westhill in the Section III Class C quarterfinals.
The Lakers' 16 goals were scored by just four players; Connor Cannizzaro and Matt Donovan each had five, Brad Nardella put in four, and Ryan Cook scored the other two and added three assists.
Cazenovia (16-1) advances to play No. 4 LaFayette in the semifinals Saturday at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.
