Murphy staying; Ennis coming
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - SU basketball recruit Tyler Ennis verbally committed to the Orange for 2013 Thursday while former SU assistant Rob Murphy committed to remaining at Eastern Michigan despite an offer to join the NBA's Orlando Magic.
Ennis, a native of Ontario who is playing high school ball at a prep school in New Jersey, chose Syracuse over offers from powerhouses like UCLA, Memphis, and Louisville.
He's considered one of the top five point guards and top fifty players overall in the Class of 2013.
Meanwhile, Murphy texted YNN's Mark Larson Thursday night to relay the news he is staying at EMU despite published reports to the contrary. Murphy said in a statement Thursday night he had an offer to join the Magic but decided to stay with the Eagles, whom he coached to 14 wins in his rookie season last year.
