SYRACUSE, N.Y. - After a four sack performance against Pittsburgh Friday, Orange senior defensive end Brandon Sharpe has been named the national defensive player of the week. Sharpe's four sacks were the second most in a single game in Syracuse history.
The Virginia Beach native will now be added to the Bronko Nagurski Award watch list. The finalists and winner will be named later in the fall.
