SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse University football team celebrated Senior Day and Homecoming in a way few could have predicted on Saturday as the Orange routed previously-undefeated Louisville 45-26 at the Carrier Dome.

Ryan Nassib, one of SU's 15 seniors, led the attack against the Cardinals with 246 passing yards and three touchdowns, moving within six yards of Marvin Graves' program record for career passing yards (8,466). Senior Alec Lemon caught nine passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns, Jerome Smith notched his fourth-straight 100-yard rushing game with 144 and a touchdown, and Prince Tyson-Gully added 105 total yards and two touchdowns.

The Orange's defense also showed marked improvement with only 48 rushing yards allowed after being torched for 632 combined in the previous two games.

The win improves Syracuse to 4-2 in Big East play and 5-5 overall, meaning the team needs to win only one of its two remaining games to become bowl-eligible. The Orange's first chance is next Satuday at Missouri and the last chance is the following Friday at Temple
