SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The No. 23 Syracuse women's basketball team plowed through last-place Pittsburgh on Saturday, winning 80-39 in the Carrier Dome.
Kayla Alexander led the Orange (21-3, 9-2) with 19 points, eight rebounds, and seven blocks. Syracuse returns to action Tuesday with another home game against Rutgers.
The game marked a homecoming of sorts for Pittsburgh sophomore guard Bri Kiesel, a Utica native who is the career points leader for the Proctor High School girls basketball program. Despite a lot of support from friends, family, and former teammates in the stands, Kiesel struggled from the field, shooting 1-for-9. She finished with six points and seven rebounds.
