Record crowd expected for SU-Georgetown game

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- There may be a game Wednesday night against Providence, but tens of thousands of Orange fans are already looking forward to the weekend.

There's going to be a record crowd for the SU-Georgetown game on Saturday.

The previous record was 34,616, set against Villanova nearly three years ago. SU athletics says more than 35,000 tickets have been sold for Saturday to watch the final game between the two arch rivals in the Carrier Dome, as members of the Big East Conference.

Former SU star Carmelo Anthony will have his jersey retired during a special ceremony at the game.

Tip off at the Carrier Dome will be at 4 p.m.
