3 weeks to Flower City Half Marathon
It's been a great week for training. My runs have all been over 30 minutes, which is awesome!
Tuesday, I went to the Women's Bootcamp at Strength in Motion, and WOW! It was tough. I don't think I've sweat that much or been in that much pain while working out in a long time. It was amazing. We did so many strength training and cardio exercises. It was awesome! I felt so sore the next day. My arms were so sore that it felt like I had gotten a ton of shots in them. And my calves were killing me.
Thursday I went to my run group again. And it was great. We did short intervals, which is one of my favorite workouts. I feel like I really pushed myself. Again, people were talking about running the half marathon with me. They're awesome. So supportive.
Friday, my long run was really tiring but great. No one was able to run with me, so I decided to push it. I ran 9.7 miles in two hours. I ran along the canal from Cedar Bay to Green Lakes and back, and then from Cedar Bay to DeWitt Town Hall and back. It felt awesome. I was so tired, but it was worth it. I ran at less than a twelve and a half minute mile, which made me feel really awesome. It gave me a lot of confidence. I am feeling so much better about the half marathon.
